General Production
Job Description
Join a long-established custom rubber compounding and mixing facility as a General Production Associate, supporting the manufacturing and preparation of rubber products for shipment. You will start in a hands-on production role focused on palletizing rubber and, as you demonstrate reliability and capability, you will receive cross-training in multiple areas of the production process.
Responsibilities- Palletize manufactured rubber by taking long strips from the production line and carefully weaving them onto pallets for shipment.
- Arrange rubber strips in a neat back-and-forth pattern and cross-weave layers to create organized, stable pallets of rubber.
- Support batching activities by pulling ingredients and compounds and weighing them according to work orders to create rubber mixes.
- Assist the mixer with preparing and processing rubber compounds during the mixing stage.
- Unload rubber from the mixer so it can be cut into specified strip sizes for further processing and shipment.
- Follow production schedules and work orders to ensure accuracy and consistency in materials and finished goods.
- Operate general production and material-handling equipment as trained and authorized, including palletizing tools and potentially forklifts.
- Maintain a high level of attendance and reliability to support consistent production output.
- Work collaboratively with team members at individual stations to accomplish daily production goals.
- Adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards while working in a dirty, dusty manufacturing environment.
- Previous production or general labor experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Proven track record of strong attendance and reliability, verifiable through references.
- Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on work throughout the shift.
- Comfort working in a dirty, dusty manufacturing environment with exposure to rubber dust.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including work orders and batching guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail when palletizing and batching to ensure accuracy and neatness.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work individually at a station while contributing to shared production goals.
- Go-getter mentality with a willingness to learn and take on cross-training opportunities.
- Experience with general production, machine operation, or palletizing in an industrial setting.
- Forklift operation experience, especially sit-down propane forklifts, is a plus.
- Willingness to train on forklift operation after being hired directly, if needed.
- Comfort working around heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Ability to adapt to different production tasks as cross-training expands responsibilities.
You will join a long-standing manufacturing operation with a strong reputation in its industry and the opportunity to build a stable, long-term career. As you prove yourself, you can access cross-training in multiple production areas, expanding your skills and future opportunities. When hired directly, you will gain access to a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting the company’s commitment to investing in its workforce and supporting long-term employment.
Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a custom rubber compounding and mixing facility that has operated for decades. The facility consists of three buildings, with employees working at individual stations while collaborating as a team to complete daily production. The environment is very dirty due to the rubber manufacturing process, and you will be exposed to rubber dust that will likely accumulate on your clothing by the end of the day. Work involves standing, moving materials, and handling rubber strips and components around production lines and mixers. The setting is industrial, with general production equipment, palletizing tasks, and potential forklift operation once trained and authorized. Appropriate workwear suitable for a dusty, dirty manufacturing environment is necessary.
