Job Title: RME Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance Technician II

Job Description

This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment within a high-volume facility. You ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and help keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Maintenance team in maintaining and repairing material handling equipment throughout the facility.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues and perform timely corrective repairs to minimize operational downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
  • Follow established maintenance procedures and safety guidelines while working on equipment and systems.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and support production needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability and communicate recommendations to the team.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working as a maintenance technician in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing material handling equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems and related components.
  • Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for mechanical maintenance work.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong focus on safety practices while working with mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a maintenance team to support operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, robotics, or industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with high-volume distribution or fulfillment center operations.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance programs on automated equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving maintenance practices.

Work Environment

You work in a large, fast-paced industrial or distribution facility that operates with automated packaging and material handling systems. The environment involves working around conveyors, robotics, and pneumatic equipment, often requiring standing, walking, and working at heights or in confined areas as needed for maintenance tasks. You use standard maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment while following strict safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Work hours may include shifts, weekends, or overtime based on operational needs, and you collaborate closely with operations and maintenance teams on the floor

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
