Job Description

This entry-level role involves supporting manufacturing operations by preparing pallets, operating production equipment, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. You will handle materials, perform basic equipment checks, and follow detailed work instructions to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Replace wooden pallets with plastic pallets and aerate loads prior to printing according to the production schedule.
  • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently while monitoring performance during operation.
  • Perform occasional preventative maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues through early detection, including listening for irregular sounds and observing equipment behavior.
  • Read and interpret basic measurement tools to verify dimensions and ensure products meet specifications.
  • Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing 10 to 25 pounds frequently and safely handle pallets weighing 40 to 52 pounds.
  • Regularly stand for extended periods and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms to access materials and equipment in the work area.
  • Occasionally walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by production tasks.
  • Use basic power tools and equipment to support mechanical assembly and production activities.
  • Conduct visual inspection of materials and products to identify defects or irregularities.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to replace wooden pallets with plastic pallets and properly aerate loads prior to printing based on the production schedule.
  • Ability to perform occasional preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues by early detection, including recognizing abnormal sounds while machines are in operation.
  • Ability to read and use basic measurement tools to verify product dimensions.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to frequently lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds and safely handle pallets weighing 40 to 52 pounds.
  • Ability to regularly stand and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and occasionally walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machines and tools.
  • Basic machine operation and general production skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with assembly or mechanical assembly in a production environment.
  • Experience with machine operation or machine operating in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with using power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform basic inspection of parts or products for quality.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints or simple technical diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work in a structured shift schedule and adapt to production needs.
  • Entry-level candidates with a strong mechanical inclination are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment

This is an entry-level position in a manufacturing facility operating on a 3-2-2-3 shift schedule, which provides structured hours and every other weekend off. You will work in a production area around machinery, pallets, and materials, regularly standing, lifting, and using your hands to handle tools, controls, and products. The environment requires frequent reaching and occasional walking, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete tasks. You will use basic measurement tools, power tools, and production equipment while following safety procedures and work instructions in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kingston Springs, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
