A multidisciplinary and creative design firm located on the outskirts of the West Loop is looking to add an Interior Designer to their team!
Job Description
As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for executing project deliverables in alignment with the design direction set by the Senior Designer. You will develop design iterations and options, communicate ideas through various mediums, and translate conceptual designs into coordinated documentation using multiple design tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop design iterations and options for review
- Communicate design ideas through sketches, plans, elevations, and 3D models
- Translate conceptual design into documentation from Schematic Design through Construction Administration using CAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Bluebeam, and other tools
- Coordinate finish plans, material selections, specifications, schedules, and supporting product information
- Apply knowledge of spatial requirements, construction standards, product performance, and applicable code requirements
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and fabricators to integrate project information and resolve conflicts
- Develop and coordinate custom furniture, millwork, fixtures, and architectural details
- Review and redline drawings, renderings, models, and consultant documentation for accuracy
- Delegate tasks to junior team members and provide necessary information for deliverables
- Communicate with clients, consultants, vendors, and project partners to distribute deliverables
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- 6+ years of experience working within the custom hospitality interiors space
- Experience supporting design projects from start to finish
- Ability to manage projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Portfolio should include hospitality projects such as boutique hotels with amenity spaces, custom retail, custom restaurant, or student housing
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.86/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
