Maintenance Technical Lead

Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Maintenance Technical Lead to oversee maintenance and repair activities for automotive testing equipment, facility equipment, and buildings. This role will lead a small multi-trade maintenance team, coordinate daily maintenance activities, troubleshoot automated systems, and ensure safe, timely, and effective completion of maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement, and review maintenance and repair activities.
- Lead and support a small multi-trade skilled maintenance team.
- Troubleshoot automated testing systems and determine corrective actions.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for automotive testing equipment and facilities.
- Develop and improve maintenance strategies, programs, and processes.
- Prioritize maintenance activities based on urgency, operational needs, and workforce availability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Coach, mentor, and develop skilled trade employees.
- Procure parts, materials, and rentals required for maintenance activities.
- Track maintenance KPIs such as PM completion, overtime, and other performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping, vacation, and time-off records.
- Coordinate environmental inspections and waste pickups.
- Manage supplier/customer relationships and serve as a point of contact for service providers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance materials and equipment.
- Support multiple maintenance and improvement projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience.
- Demonstrated maintenance troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
- Experience leading or supervising maintenance/skilled trade employees.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels, from hourly skilled trades to senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be available to work ALL 3 SHIFTS and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- Automotive manufacturing, testing, or industrial environment experience.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Continuous improvement / Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Green Belt, Red X, or Six Sigma training.
- Experience with controls, robotics, drives, system-level communication systems, conveyance systems, welding systems, paint processes, sealing systems, glass cell systems, vision systems, and sensors.
Important: Candidates must be willing and able to work all three shifts. This is a mandatory requirement for the position.
