Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Quoting Specialist to support a growing insurance agency specializing in employee benefits for small businesses in the Addison area. This position plays an important role in the renewal and quoting process, working directly with clients, Account Managers, and insurance carriers to gather information, prepare requests for proposals, review quotes, and ensure accurate and timely completion of renewals. The position is 100% in office at the agency's Addison, Texas location.

The ideal candidate will have an active insurance license, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while providing excellent service to clients and internal team members. Previous experience working with small-group employee benefits is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, review, and organize information needed from clients and insurance carriers for renewals and quoting.
  • Prepare and send renewal communications to clients.
  • Download and/or request renewal, claims, and other necessary information from insurance carriers.
  • Prepare and distribute Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to carriers.
  • Review carrier quotes for accuracy and identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Enter and/or upload plan and rate information into benefit comparison and quoting tools.
  • Prepare clear and accurate plan and rate comparisons for internal review and client presentations.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information and assist throughout the renewal process.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain quotes, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding information.
  • Track renewal timelines and assist in ensuring required information and deliverables are completed by established deadlines.
  • Assist Account Managers with mid-year client reviews as needed.
  • Attend carrier meetings, trainings, and educational sessions to maintain knowledge of available products, plans, and industry changes.
  • Maintain accurate client and renewal documentation.
  • Provide additional administrative and quoting support to the employee benefits team as needed.

Qualifications Required:

  • Active insurance license.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review rates, plans, and documentation for accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to learn and work within insurance carrier portals, CRM systems, and benefit comparison platforms.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in employee benefits, insurance quoting, account management, or a related insurance role.
  • Experience working with small-group employee benefits.
  • Knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other employee benefit products.
  • Experience preparing RFPs and managing the carrier quoting process.
  • Familiarity with carrier portals and employee benefits quoting/comparison platforms.
