Lead Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Supervisor

Temp-to-Hire | Day Shift

TempExperts is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Supervisor for a growing manufacturing facility in Franklin, TN. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations, assigning work to maintenance personnel, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Day Shift – Monday through Friday with flexibility for occasional overtime or weekends as needed.

Must have 5+ years of industrial machine maintenance experience (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor systems. As well as 3+ years experience leading or supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance programs is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team.
  • Prioritize and assign maintenance work to ensure minimal production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Install, adjust, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and implement effective repairs.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches as needed.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe maintenance shop and work environment.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical, vocational, or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience leading, mentoring, or supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with conveyor systems, production equipment, motors, gearboxes, and automated machinery.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency using a variety of hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift equipment, tools, and parts weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments including exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas when necessary.
