Overview

In this role, you will work on Fridays from 8-3, utilizing your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, including deep cleanings, and support our patients through education and compassionate care. Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized treatment plans.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
  • Take and interpret imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow infection control protocols with aseptic techniques to protect patients and staff from cross-contamination.

Requirements

  • Valid Dental Hygiene license in accordance with state regulations.
  • Proven experience working in general dentistry.
  • Proficiency with Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding standards.
  • Ability to perform efficiently while maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles, including patient assessment and documentation review processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
