Auto Mechanic

The Auto Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicle brands within a small team environment. Reporting to the owner and office staff, this position requires strong technical expertise and excellent customer communication skills. The ideal candidate values professionalism, maintaining a clear boundary between work and personal life, and brings a good sense of humor to the workplace. Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle issues using engine and emissions diagnostics
• Perform engine repairs and general maintenance, including brake and exhaust systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance and emission testing repairs
• Service electrical systems, A/C, radiators, and other vehicle components
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle status and repairs
• Maintain tools and comply with safety regulations
• Replace parts efficiently and note detailed diagnostics in reports

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automotive repair
• ASE Certification
• Clean driving record
• Proficient in engine diagnostics and repairs
• Experienced with brake systems and preventive maintenance
• Skilled in electrical systems repair and emission testing repairs
• Strong customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Capable of general vehicle maintenance and repair
