Landscapers

Pleasant Nursery, Inc., is a family owned, landscaping company. They have served the greater Springfield area with commercial and residential services for 77 years. Services include design, installation, maintenance, and interior planting services.

Pleasant Nursery is currently looking for individuals to assist in this year’s plantings and installations. Individuals can expect to work regular hours in an outdoor environment. Knowledge of plant habits is preferred but not necessary. Individuals can expect to be instructed in proper and safe use of equipment.

Desired work characteristics

Stamina & Strength:

-Must be capable of performing strenuous physical tasks for long periods, including lifting at least 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly.-Knowledge of basic landscaping tools and techniques-digging holes, raking, etc

Weather Resilience:

-Ability to work effectively in various extreme weather conditions, including intense heat, rain, cold, and snow.

Reliability & Punctuality:

-Consistency in showing up on time is critical, as tardiness affects the entire crew's ability to complete daily schedules.

- A Willingness to Learn.

Attention to Detail:

-Precision is required to maintain landscape design integrity and spot small issues.

- Knowledge of plant identification (preferred not required)

-A valid drivers license

-Previous landscaping, maintenance or sales is a plus

Strong Work Ethic:

-Proud individuals who enjoy hands-on projects and have a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

-Reliable, prompt, attends work regularly, not frequently late

Team Player:

-The ability to work in small crews; the ability to work as a unified team and follow instructions from a supervisor is a requirement.

Effective Communication:

-The ability to convey information clearly to supervisors and occasionally interact professionally with clients is necessary.

Compensation rate based on work experience and includes a range of $17-$23 per hour.
