Purdy Bailey LLP is a San Diego law firm handling sophisticated business and commercial disputes. We're growing, and we're looking to add a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to our team. This is a great opportunity for a litigator who wants to do more than simply support cases — someone ready to take on meaningful responsibility, sharpen their advocacy skills, and play an important role in complex litigation.

What You'll Do

You'll be an active contributor on business and commercial litigation matters, not just support staff. Responsibilities include:

• Managing and moving cases forward under the guidance of experienced litigators
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
• Reviewing and developing evidence
• Conducting legal research and developing case strategy
• Taking and defending depositions and participating in hearings as experience allows
• Communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
• Contributing to case strategy and exercising sound, independent judgment

What We're Looking For:

• Active membership in the California State Bar and good standing
• Approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience, ideally in business or commercial disputes
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Sound judgment and the ability to take ownership of meaningful responsibility
• A genuine interest in developing as an advocate
