Production Coordinator
Job Description
Keep Production Moving. Solve Problems Before They Become Delays.
Jetta Corporation is looking for an organized, proactive Production Expeditor to help keep orders, materials, and production priorities moving through our Edmond manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being where the action is. You’ll spend much of your day on the production floor tracking open orders, identifying material shortages and bottlenecks, coordinating with multiple departments, and helping ensure priority orders are completed and shipped on time.
If you’re a strong communicator who can manage competing priorities, dig into problems, and work effectively across Production, Materials, Scheduling, Quality, Shipping, and Customer Service, we’d like to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
As our Production Expediter, you will:
- Monitor open production orders against the master production schedule and identify at-risk or late orders.
- Track orders through each stage of production and verify actual shop-floor progress against ERP records.
- Maintain accurate status information for flagged and expedited orders.
- Communicate order status changes and revised completion dates to Production Supervisors, Scheduling, and Customer Service.
- Identify missing components, hardware, and raw materials that are delaying production and coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse to resolve shortages.
- Pull, stage, or relocate parts and materials between work centers to keep priority orders moving.
- Verify kitted materials against work-order requirements before release to production.
- Serve as a key shop-floor contact for expedited requests from Customer Service, Sales, and Shipping.
- Participate in daily production and tier meetings to communicate late orders, shortages, and expedite priorities.
- Coordinate with Quality when orders are affected by non-conformances and help re-prioritize work once issues are resolved.
- Work with Shipping to ensure expedited orders are staged and ready ahead of scheduled ship dates.
- Maintain accurate order, job, and operation status within the ERP system.
- Generate and distribute daily expedite, late-order, and shortage reports.
- Identify opportunities to reduce recurring delays through improved scheduling, kitting, material staging, and related processes.
- Support 5S and standard-work practices in staging and expedite areas.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production control, expediting, warehouse operations, scheduling, or a related environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and changing priorities.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, bills of material, and production schedules.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate clearly and proactively with team members across multiple departments.
- Strong attention to accuracy while working with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work primarily on the production floor and move regularly between departments.
- Ability to work occasional overtime, including evenings or weekends, when needed to support production and shipping deadlines.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in business, supply chain, or a related field.
- Experience using an ERP system; Fourth Shift experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in composites, fiberglass, or another make-to-order manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Make/Buy classifications and production scheduling.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, visual management, and standard work.
- Experience using handheld scanners or shop-floor data collection terminals.
- Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to:
- Walk and stand for extended periods throughout the facility.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
