Job Description: Wiring up new construction homes per code

Key Responsibilities
  • Layout of electrical per plans and local codes
  • Insure all electric is installed per plan and code
  • Choose an array of tools and materials according to the repair work that needs to be done
  • Read and interpret blueprints and cabinet details to insure correct location of electrical
  • Follow architectural drawings to determine installation of wiring systems
  • Install a variety of electrical system components such as lighting, switches, circuits, panels and outlets
  • Identify hazards or defects in electrical systems by performing periodic inspections
  • Plan layout of electrical wiring and equipment keeping in mind local building codes and project specifications
  • Direct the work of apprentices to ensure that work orders are handled properly
  • Overtime paid on piece rate
  • Earning potential based on experience, ability, and accuracy
Average per Hour
Rougher Average $21.12
Trimmer Average $19.50

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 2+ years of hands-on electrical experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a “whatever it takes” mentality
  • Valid driver’s license required with clean driving history
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment screenings, including criminal background check, driving record, and drug screen
