Mechanical Assembly Technician

Location: Franklin, WI
Job Type: Contract — Not Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Must be available for overtime on Fridays as needed

Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble overhead electrical switching equipment, including IntelliRupter units, in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while meeting quality and production requirements.
Blueprint reading and wiring experience are preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble IntelliRupter units and related mechanical/electrical components.
  • Install, mount, align, and secure components ranging from approximately 5–25 lbs.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, air impact tools, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and measuring tools.
  • Perform mechanical inspections and make basic assembly adjustments.
  • Follow assembly prints, work instructions, and established procedures.
  • Use material-handling equipment and overhead cranes as required and properly trained.
  • Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards in a continuous production environment.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or hands-on mechanical experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools and perform shop math.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and assembly procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to work Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM, with overtime on Fridays as needed.
Preferred, Not Required: Blueprint/assembly print reading experience and electrical wiring experience.

Physical Requirements
This position requires extended periods of standing and walking, frequent lifting and carrying of components weighing approximately 5–25 lbs., bending, crouching, reaching, and repetitive use of hands and arms. The role may also require handling heavier components with appropriate equipment or assistance and occasional work from ladders or lifts.
