Senior MIG Fabrication Lead, Galvanized & Carbon Steel
Job Description
Pay: $28–$30/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: 1st Shift - Full-time - Permanent
A day in this roleYou begin by reviewing blueprints and fabrication drawings for a new run of custom ductwork and ventilation components. With MIG as your primary process, you fit, tack, weld, and finish assemblies in galvanized and carbon steel, verifying dimensions and weld symbols before every pass. Throughout the shift, you uphold safety, quality, and accuracy, and you keep your station orderly so the team can move quickly from one build to the next. As a lead, you set the tone on the floor—coaching peers, supporting training, and modeling best practices. After the initial training period, you’ll transition to using your own set of tools on the job.
Core responsibilities- MIG weld steel components for custom ductwork and ventilation systems
- Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Fit, tack, weld, and finish to specification
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and accuracy
- Keep a clean, organized workspace
- Provide leadership support and contribute to training
- Proven MIG welding experience
- MUST HAVE experience with galvanized and carbon steel
- Ability to read welding symbols and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and safety mindset
- Willingness to buy personal tools once trained
- Capability to perform physical fabrication tasks
- $28–$30/hour depending on experience
