Now Hiring: Production Wire Technician / ESP Service Technician
Location: Midland, TX
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Wire Technician / ESP Service Technician to support the repair, testing, refurbishment, and preparation of three-phase high-voltage cable and associated components used in Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems. This is a hands-on role for individuals who enjoy working with tools, solving technical challenges, and contributing to reliable oilfield production operations.
Essential Job Functions but not limited too:
- Repair, refurbish, and test three-phase high-voltage cable used in ESP applications.
- Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and inspections of cable systems and components.
- Diagnose failures and identify repair solutions for damaged cable and related equipment.
- Assist with preparation, assembly, and refurbishment of ESP systems and production equipment.
- Perform cable splicing, cable preparation, insulation repairs, and quality control testing.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication work as needed to support repair operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, testing, and inspections.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety procedures and quality standards.
- Collaborate with production, operations, and field personnel to support equipment readiness and reliability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in oilfield production, artificial lift, industrial maintenance, electrical repair, or related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime and meet operational demands when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems.
- Experience working with three-phase high-voltage cable.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Oilfield production, artificial lift, or downhole equipment experience.
- Experience with electrical testing equipment including multimeters, meggers, and insulation resistance testers.
- Technical training, trade school, or relevant certifications.
