Position Summary
We are seeking a Controls Service Technician to join a growing Building Automation team supporting Building Management Systems (BMS), BAS/DDC, and HVAC controls throughout the Central Texas market. This position is best suited for a mid-to-senior-level controls professional with strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose issues from the supervisory controller level down to field controllers, end devices, and wiring.
The primary service area is South Austin, Buda, and Kyle, with work extending throughout Central Texas and occasionally south toward San Antonio. Candidates living in or around South Austin are preferred and should be comfortable with occasional 1–1.5-hour commutes depending on project location.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to service calls and diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair BMS/BAS/DDC and HVAC control systems.
- Troubleshoot controls from the supervisory controller through field controllers, sensors, actuators, end devices, and wiring.
- Perform programming modifications, system diagnostics, commissioning support, and control system repairs.
- Interpret HVAC mechanical systems and sequences of operation to identify and resolve control-related issues.
- Work with multiple controls platforms and interfaces, including Tridium Niagara, ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls/FX, and similar systems.
- Support larger controls projects and integrations while working closely with project managers and other technical team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience with BMS/BAS/DDC systems, including diagnosis, programming, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting ability with controls, field devices, sensors, actuators, and wiring; candidates who demonstrate the ability to learn these skills quickly will also be considered.
- Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and typical sequences of operation.
- Familiarity with ladder-logic-style programming, DDC, PLCs, or similar control programming concepts.
- Experience with one or more BAS/control platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls/FX. Niagara/N4 certification is a strong plus.
- Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and professional communication with customers, coworkers, and project teams.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
Schedule & Compensation
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Occasional overtime and weekend work as needed
- $35.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience
