Location: Odessa, Texas
Position Summary
- We are seeking a skilled and dependable Single Hand Welder to join our team.
- This position is responsible for fabricating and assembling oilfield switch racks, metal buildings, and steel structures while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- The ideal candidate will have strong welding and fabrication experience, be comfortable working independently, and possess a solid understanding of manufacturing and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Fabricate and assemble oilfield switch racks, steel structures, and metal buildings.
- Perform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding in accordance with company and project specifications.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Operate plasma cutting equipment, torches, grinders, chop saws, and other fabrication tools.
- Install sheet metal panels, doors, and door hardware.
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components to precise specifications.
- Perform grinding, finishing, and quality inspections on completed welds and assemblies.
- Assist with painting, installation, and other fabrication-related tasks.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and scissor lifts when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures and company policies.
- Lift and move materials, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Experience with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding processes.
- Proficiency in plasma cutting and metal fabrication techniques.
- Experience working with steel frame structures.
- Knowledge of welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and measuring tools.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and chop saws.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift Certification.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
- Experience operating scissor lifts.
- Door and hardware installation experience.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and installation.
- Oilfield fabrication experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions, including varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear always required personal protective equipment (PPE).
