AVIR at Post is seeking a compassionate and motivated Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP seeking flexible scheduling while providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive rehabilitation environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and functional goals.

  • Provide skilled speech-language therapy services in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations.

  • Address communication, cognition, swallowing, and other areas within the SLP's scope of practice.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge recommendations.

  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, safety strategies, communication techniques, and swallowing precautions.

  • Collaborate with nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Follow facility policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.

  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of Texas.

  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility as applicable.

  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain as required.

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.

  • Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent patient care.
