Job Description: Assembly Technician


The Assembly Technician will provide comprehensive technical skills to execute P-Series assemblies across all model types. This role requires strong attention to detail, assembling everything from basic mechanical sub-assemblies to precision assemblies, including turrets, arms, wrists, robots, and rail assemblies.


Essential Functions

  • Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies (turrets, arms, wrists, robots, cable installation, cable catrac, and rail assemblies) for P-series products in alignment with production plans, standards, and engineering specifications.
  • Follow the manufacturing schedule and meet productivity requirements.
  • Access and apply control plans, quality documents, and engineering guidelines.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure assemblies and workmanship meet standards; verify test data and results.
  • Properly care for and use tools and equipment in compliance with tool management procedures.
  • Maintain organized workspaces using a 5-S approach.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including HAZMAT, Lockout/Tagout, robot safety, risk assessments, and use of PPE.
  • Complete work orders and related tasks in the ERP system.


Minimum Requirements

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, prints, and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools for mechanical and pneumatic assembly.
  • Ability to assemble gears and sealed mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Competence in using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.).
  • Understanding and application of safety procedures (e.g., MIOSHA regulations, forklift operation, Lockout/Tagout, hazardous material handling).
  • Ability to maintain a disciplined, independent approach to responsibilities.


Experience & Education

  • Background in mechanical repair, construction, automotive, pneumatic, maintenance, or machine/line building.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications in basic technical training with a mechanical focus preferred.
  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or journeyman license (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–5 years of experience in mechanical assembly and testing (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Experience using fixtures and jigs for mechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards (preferred).
