Position: Housekeeping/Sit-Down Forklift Operator
Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM
Pay: $17.72 / hour
Location: Plainfield IN
Position Summary
The Warehouse Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the warehouse facility while supporting daily warehouse operations. This position requires the ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift to move materials, pallets, and equipment as needed. This role does not include restroom cleaning responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse floors, aisles, docks, storage areas, breakrooms, and workstations.
- Sweep, dust mop, scrub, and remove debris from warehouse areas.
- Empty trash containers and dispose of waste in designated locations.
- Collect and recycle cardboard, plastic wrap, pallets, and other warehouse materials.
- Clean spills and address housekeeping issues promptly to maintain a safe work environment.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials, pallets, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Assist with inventory movement and warehouse organization as directed.
- Ensure all housekeeping equipment and supplies are maintained and stored properly.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Report safety hazards, damaged equipment, and maintenance concerns to management.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of sit-down forklift operating experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift and maintain certification if required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including a sit-down forklift.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous warehouse experience is a plus
