Advanced Multi‑Axis CNC Setup Specialist (Swiss, Mill/Turn)

Are you energized by precision, process, and problem-solving? At The Lee Company, you’ll set up and operate advanced CNC equipment in a modern, air‑conditioned environment to produce complex components from detailed prints and specifications.

  • Technology: Work from detailed instructions and standard coding to configure tools, orient spindles, and verify positions at reference points.
  • Ownership: Load and run multiple machines, resetting stops and sharpening tools to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Quality: Keep fixtures and clamping devices free of chips; restock materials and oils; maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Team: Report machine malfunctions and tooling issues promptly; share your know‑how by training others as needed.
Must‑Haves
  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school education.
  • Demonstrated setup experience on Swiss lathes.
  • Proficiency with computerized machine controls, weight scales, comparators, microscopes, precision measuring tools, hand tools, and specialized trade tools.
  • Comfort with computers for data entry and document production.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong math capabilities.
  • Able to proofread documents, read blueprints, train others, and complete production paperwork accurately.
What You’ll Tackle Each Shift
  • Configure fixtures, machine stops, and indexing devices per part drawings and specifications.
  • Operate multiple CNC machines and adjust/re‑set machine and fixture stops to hold tolerance; sharpen tooling when required.
  • Apply detailed instructions, standard coding, and operational data to mount tooling and position workpieces correctly.
  • Replenish stock materials and oils; keep materials, holding fixtures, and clamping devices chip‑free for proper seating.
  • Use the control console to orient the spindle and confirm work position at reference points.
  • Report malfunctions/tooling difficulties; keep equipment and the work area clean; follow all safety rules.
