Location: Boston, MA
Salary: $235,000–$365,000
Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm's Labor & Employment practice in Boston. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level associate with 3–5 years of experiencehandling employment-related litigation and providing day-to-day advice and counseling to employers.
The successful candidate will advise clients on a broad range of workplace matters while also supporting sophisticated employment litigation and transactional work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Represent employers in employment-related litigation matters.
- Advise clients on a broad range of labor and employment issues.
- Draft and negotiate employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements.
- Counsel employers regarding wage-and-hour matters, including employee classifications and general compliance.
- Advise clients regarding leaves of absence and related employment issues.
- Review and advise on employment policies and handbooks.
- Assist clients with employment-related compliance and risk management.
- Support corporate transactions by advising on labor and employment issues, including employment agreements, workforce considerations, and related due diligence.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, correspondence, and other written work product.
- Work closely with clients and colleagues to develop practical, business-oriented solutions to employment matters.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 3–5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law.
- Experience with employment-related litigation and advice and counseling.
- Experience with employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements.
- Experience handling wage-and-hour matters, including employee classifications and general compliance.
- Experience advising on leaves of absence and employment policies.
- Prior experience supporting corporate transactions is preferred but not required.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to client service.
- Active Massachusetts Bar admission required.
- Competitive base salary of $235,000–$365,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
