Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney

Location: Dallas, TX
Salary: $225,000–$310,000

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm's Financial Industry Group in Dallas. This opportunity is ideal for a junior to mid-level associate with 2–4 years of experiencerepresenting borrowers and lenders in sophisticated commercial real estate finance transactions.

The successful candidate will work directly with partners and clients on complex, multifaceted financings involving a diverse range of real estate asset classes. Associates will have meaningful responsibility for managing transaction workstreams and helping drive matters from inception through closing.

Responsibilities
  • Represent borrowers and lenders in sophisticated commercial real estate finance transactions.

  • Work on complex financing transactions involving a broad range of real estate asset classes.

  • Handle mortgage, mezzanine, construction, and acquisition financing matters.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and other financing documentation.

  • Assist with transaction structuring, due diligence, and closing processes.

  • Manage assigned transaction workstreams in collaboration with partners and other attorneys.

  • Interact directly with clients and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.

  • Coordinate with attorneys and professionals across different practice areas and specialties.

  • Help drive financing transactions from inception through closing.

  • Identify and address legal and commercial issues arising throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • 2–4 years of experience handling commercial real estate finance transactions.

  • Experience representing borrowers and/or lenders in sophisticated real estate financings.

  • Experience with mortgage, mezzanine, construction, and/or acquisition financing.

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage transaction workstreams and multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with partners, clients, and attorneys across multiple specialties.

  • Active Texas Bar admission required.
