Position SummaryThe Road Maintenance Worker I performs semi-skilled and manual labor. The Road Maintenance Worker I works on a crew engaged in the maintenance and repair of county roads, bridges, right of way, street signs and other assigned structures; and operates a wide variety of light construction equipment such as dump trucks, pickup trucks and mowers.Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, physical fitness testing and criminal background check.I understand that final confirmation of any job offer will be contingent upon my undergoing a pre-employment drug screening, and failure to submit to such screening, the falsification of a screen, or a positive finding on a test will remove me from consideration for employment for one year. I also understand this position requires an ability to meet physical demands that serve as the essential functions of the job. I understand that I may be required to demonstrate that I can perform the essential functions of the job.I also understand a criminal history check will be conducted. Although a disqualification is possible, in accordance with federal and state laws, a previous conviction does not automatically disqualify me from consideration for employment.
