Charge Nurse LVN/RN

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled LVN/RN to join our team at Avir at Commons in Athens, TX. As an LVN/RN at Avir, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care to our residents, while also supervising the day-to-day nursing activities of your assigned unit. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treatments, and IVs as ordered by physicians

  • Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of your assigned unit, ensuring Residents' Rights are maintained and Federal, State, and local standards are met

  • Interpret policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, and other stakeholders

  • Ensure that nursing personnel are following their job descriptions and that reference materials are maintained at the nurses' station

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of care plans, assessments, and treatment schedules

  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure timely administration of medications and treatments

  • Provide support and guidance to nursing personnel, including LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality care, resident safety, and satisfaction

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records and reports

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing

  • Valid State license to practice nursing

  • IV certification preferred

  • Ability to write and speak the English language in an understandable manner

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public

  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care

  • Leadership and supervisory ability, with a willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel

  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures

  • Physical, cognitive, and sensory requirements include walking, reaching, bending, grasping, pushing, and pulling, with the ability to lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds
