Job title: IT Department Administrator

Duration: 6-month contract, with high likelihood for continued renewal every 6-months

Location-zipcode & Travel: Must be local to Kansas or the KC Metro and able to come onsite Tu-Th in Topeka.

Schedule: 8-5 CST

PR: $25-37/hr

Must haves:

  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative or coordination based position in a fast paced environment with multiple workstreams
  • Experience putting together reporting, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Professional experience with the M365 Suite (Excel, Teams, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, and Outlook)
  • General knowledge or interest in a career in information technology
  • Ability to navigate multiple work streams with effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to create and track documentation in a well-organized manner
  • High character and ability to represent the brand image of an organization that is customer facing
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to operate autonomously

Day to day: This IT Department Administrator will provide administrative and operational support for a technology and cybersecurity program serving more than 3,600 local entities. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory records for deployed technology assets such as laptops, satellite equipment, and radio devices; processing access requests and radio system tokens; supporting disaster recovery communications; and managing printing and administrative workflows. The role will maintain documentation, update policies and procedures, prepare reports on team performance and program activity, and develop presentations for leadership and stakeholder meetings. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Strong experience with reporting, documentation, and Microsoft 365 tools—including Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint—is required. Success in this position depends on strong organizational skills, professionalism, effective communication, and a proactive approach to supporting a fast-paced technology environment.
