We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to support a manufacturing organization in Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for an accounting specialist who can contribute across daily transactions and core ledger activities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The role calls for someone who can strengthen financial operations, keep records current, and help ensure timely completion of key reporting cycles.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee payables and receivables processing to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and completed within required timelines.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and record accruals to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, helping deliver complete and accurate financial results on schedule.
• Review accounting records for inconsistencies, investigate variances, and resolve issues to support reliable reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information, clarify transactions, and keep accounting workflows running efficiently.
• Use Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or a comparable ERP platform to enter transactions, track activity, and produce accounting data.
• Support tax-related accounting tasks, including areas tied to corporate tax and sales tax reporting requirements.• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
• Hands-on background in both accounts payable and accounts receivable with a strong grasp of end-to-end accounting operations.
• Working knowledge of general ledger functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accrual accounting.
• Experience contributing to month-end and year-end close processes in a deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or another comparable ERP system.
• Understanding of tax-related accounting concepts, including sales tax and corporate tax support activities.
• Strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to established processes and systems.
