We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations and provide dependable financial leadership for the organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong compliance practices, and strengthening internal controls across core finance activities. The Controller will also partner with senior leadership to support planning, performance analysis, and strategic growth initiatives while developing a capable and accountable finance team.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with applicable U.S. accounting standards.
• Manage regulatory and statutory compliance activities and coordinate with external parties to support successful audits and reporting obligations.
• Supervise tax filing processes across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, including corporate returns, partnership reporting, and Schedule K-1 documentation, in collaboration with outside tax advisors.
• Lead core accounting functions such as the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, and treasury to maintain reliable day-to-day financial operations.
• Oversee period-end close activities and improve close timelines through disciplined processes, standardization, and strong review practices.
• Strengthen the control environment by designing, monitoring, and refining internal accounting procedures and financial governance measures.
• Manage cash flow oversight, liquidity planning, banking relationships, debt-related obligations, and broader treasury activities.
• Guide process improvement, automation, and financial systems enhancement efforts to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, acquisitions, due diligence, and post-transaction integration efforts.
• Mentor and develop the accounting and finance team, promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and long-term succession planning.• Demonstrated experience leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in a senior accounting or controllership capacity.
• Strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and financial statement preparation under U.S. accounting standards.
• Proven ability to oversee broad accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions.
• Experience managing external audits, tax filing coordination, and relationships with auditors, regulators, financial institutions, or outside advisors.
• Solid financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret results, identify trends, and communicate meaningful business insights to leadership.
• Track record of improving accounting processes, strengthening internal controls, and supporting scalable finance operations.
• Ability to contribute to business strategy through budgeting, forecasting, growth planning, and transaction-related financial support.
