Payroll Bookkeeper
Job Description
A growing organization is seeking an experienced Office Manager to oversee accounting operations, administrative functions, and employee support processes. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines office management responsibilities with accounting oversight and team supervision.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing daily operational needs with ongoing accounting and administrative responsibilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth business operations, supporting employees, maintaining accurate financial records, and improving internal processes. This is an onsite role in Cheney, WA.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Administration
- Coordinate and support monthly and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist with journal entries, accruals, corrections, and general ledger activity
- Support financial reporting, analysis, and special projects
- Maintain accurate financial records and support internal controls
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Payroll
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash receipts, collections, vendor payments, credits, and account adjustments
- Review accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate payroll administration and payroll-related reconciliations
- Support employee deductions, benefits administration, and related recordkeeping
Office Operations & Team Leadership
- Supervise accounting support staff and provide day-to-day direction and workflow oversight
- Coordinate office operations and ensure recurring deadlines are met
- Serve as the primary liaison with external providers, including payroll, benefits, insurance, banking, technology, and accounting partners
- Support onboarding, employee changes, leave administration, and other personnel-related processes
- Maintain and improve administrative procedures, documentation, and operational workflows
- Assist leadership with process improvements and organizational initiatives
BENEFITS OFFERED:
SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000

Required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in office management, accounting, bookkeeping, or business administration
- Experience supporting month-end close, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and financial recordkeeping
- Previous supervisory experience or experience leading and reviewing the work of others
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar accounting/ERP systems
- Experience working in a complex operational environment
- Exposure to payroll, benefits administration, HR support functions, and third-party vendor coordination
- Experience developing procedures and strengthening administrative and accounting controls
