🚀 About the RoleWe’re looking for a motivated Facilities Technician/HVAC Tech to join our service team. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll learn how to load and unload equipment, perform basic preventative maintenance, and complete minor repairs. You’ll work with HVAC units, generators, pumps, and power equipment that support major commercial, industrial, and shipyard operations. 🔧 What You’ll Do- Train with experienced service technicians on equipment handling and shop procedures
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on HVAC and power equipment
- Complete minor repairs safely and efficiently
- Maintain and repair Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment and accessories
- Operate and understand generators, power distribution units, A/C units, heaters, HVAC systems, and diesel‑driven pumps
- Work in a mechanic/service shop and yard environment
- Assist with maintenance on industrial‑scale HVAC units, generators, power supply systems, and pumps
- 1–3 years of experience with Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, hvac systems, and power systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new systems
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 25+ lbs
- EPA Universal certification is a major plus
- HVAC, Building & Construction, Electrical, Mechanical
- Experience as a helper or apprentice in HVAC, electrical, automotive, or mechanical trades
- Ability to gain access to Newport News Shipyard

- Transition to Newport News Shipyard (schedule: 6 AM–3 PM, Monday–Friday)
- Ideal candidate is open 12‑hour shifts, 4 days on / 3 days off
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
