Quality Engineer

Location: Northvale, NJ (On-Site)
Pay Rate: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
Employment Type: Contract/Temporary

MUST COME FROM AUTOMOTIVE

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support and maintain quality systems within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements, and supporting product quality from development through production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality system requirements, including APQP, PPAP, Core Tools, control plans, and customer-specific requirements
  • Develop and maintain process control plans, capability studies, and Gage R&R studies
  • Perform process capability analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Analyze quality data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Develop inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
  • Investigate customer concerns and support customer audits and site visits
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Review manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and technical specifications
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving process performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
  • Previous Quality Engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing environment required
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and other Automotive Core Tools
  • Experience conducting Gage R&R studies and process capability analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Experience creating and maintaining process control plans and inspection documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related reporting tools
Additional Information
  • Automotive industry experience is required
  • Open to non-local candidates; however, relocation assistance is not available
  • Competitive pay rate of $50-$65/hour based on experience
