Office Operations Manager
Temporary | Full-Time | 30-40 Hours/Week | Washington, DC
A mission-driven organization in Washington, DC is seeking a Temporary Office Operations Manager to provide hands-on operational, administrative, and workplace support. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, proactive professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities, supporting leadership and staff, and helping keep a fast-moving office running smoothly.
The Office Operations Manager will serve as an on-the-ground resource for day-to-day office operations, HR coordination, executive scheduling, meeting support, and special projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This person should be able to work independently while also collaborating closely with leadership and employees across the organization.
Compensation: $32-$38 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, approximately 30-40 hours per week.
Location: Washington, DC. Regular in-office presence is expected 5 days a week
Duration: Temporary assignment of ASAP through Jan 2027

Pay Details: $32.00 to $38.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Manage timelines and follow-up for employee performance reviews, ensuring deadlines are met and questions are appropriately addressed or escalated.
- Coordinate employee communications and logistics related to benefits open enrollment, including reminders, informational sessions, and directing questions to the appropriate resources.
- Collect and organize agenda items for recurring executive and organization-wide meetings.
- Lead and support special operations projects and events, including retreats, organizational gatherings, and high-priority scheduling initiatives.
- Provide hands-on support for in-person meetings, including conference room reservations, audiovisual setup, catering, meeting materials, and visitor access.
- Support executive and leadership scheduling, including responding quickly to changing priorities and last-minute calendar adjustments.
- Maintain organized digital files and ensure documents are stored and accessible appropriately.
- Provide backup administrative and office support, including mail, office supplies, phone coverage, and general workplace coordination.
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and efficient office environment.
- Take on additional operational and administrative projects as priorities evolve.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently.
- Flexible and adaptable when priorities change.
- Comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity and rapidly changing needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in office administration, operations, HR coordination, or a related function.
- 1-3 years of experience providing executive or leadership scheduling support.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common workplace collaboration tools.
- Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Experience with HR, CRM, document management, or related business systems is helpful.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
