Creekside Family Eye Care is an independently owned vision clinic located in Craven County. In addition, we have three other local practices that serve our patients; New Bern Family Eye Care, Pamlico Family Eye Care, and SpecialEyes Pediatric & Special Needs Vision Clinic.

As a Licensed Optician, you will use your professional knowledge and technical expertise to guide patients through the eyewear selection process, accurately interpret prescriptions, recommend appropriate lens options, and ensure every finished pair of eyewear meets our quality standards. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to creating an exceptional experience for every patient.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service while helping patients select eyewear based on their prescription, visual needs, lifestyle, personal style, and budget
- Interpret prescriptions and make appropriate frame and lens recommendations based on doctor guidance and knowledge of current products and lens technology
- Educate patients about lens materials, treatments, coatings, specialty lens designs, and other available options
- Accurately obtain optical measurements and evaluate frame fit to ensure the best possible vision, comfort, and appearance
- Explain office pricing, policies, warranties, and vision insurance benefits clearly and accurately
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and assist with the accurate submission of eyewear orders and related claims
- Place, monitor, and troubleshoot eyewear orders
- Inspect and verify completed eyewear for prescription accuracy, quality, and proper fit before dispensing
- Adjust, repair, and dispense eyewear while educating patients about adaptation, care, and cleaning
- Perform finishing lab work, including lens mounting, assembly, adjustments, and repairs
- Understand all aspects of lens fabrication, verification, and troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve concerns involving vision, lens design, measurements, frame fit, or product quality
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the practice management system
- Maintain an organized optical gallery, lab, frame inventory, and work area
- Assist with frame inventory, product displays, vendor communication, and maintaining current knowledge of frame and lens products
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, front-desk staff, and other optical team members to provide a smooth and positive patient experience
- Support other office locations when needed and participate in continuing education and team training

Experience:
- optical: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- NC Optician license (Required)
