What You'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, and assemble pipe systems.
- Install, modify, and repair commercial piping systems including:
- Chilled water
- Heating hot water
- Condenser water
- Process piping
- Hydronic systems
- Lay out and install hangers, supports, and equipment connections.
- Fit, align, and connect valves, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform pipe welding preparation and coordinate with welders when required.
- Test piping systems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation.
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with superintendents, foremen, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial pipefitting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Experience using pipefitting hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
- Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic.
Journeyman-Level Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience preferred.
- Advanced blueprint reading and layout abilities.
- Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices.
- Strong knowledge of installation standards, codes, and best practices.
- Proven ability to plan and execute complex piping installations.
Desired Skills
- Grooved, threaded, and welded piping systems.
- HVAC mechanical piping installation.
- Rigging and material handling.
- Equipment setting and alignment.
- Hydronic system installation and troubleshooting.
- Quality control and jobsite safety compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
