Traveling Superintendents - Construction Job Sites

Craftsmen Contractors is currently seeking experienced Plumbing, Sheet Metal, or Pipe-fitting Superintendents who are willing to travel to Texas and Louisiana. This is for upcoming commercial projects. We need Superintendents who are willing to travel and someone who can help run a job and land with a great company for the long haul.

This is a temp-to-permanent position for the right candidate.

Project Superintendent pay rate: $30 - 35/hour, depending on experience.

Per diem is available and negotiable for those who qualify.

Weekly pay by direct deposit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise construction activities across multiple sites, ensuring projects progress according to schedule and specifications.
• Manage field labor
• Achieve safe, on-time, and under-budget completion of projects
• Manage and oversee on-site teams, including subcontractors and crew members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate implementation of project plans.
• Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards; conduct regular safety meetings.
• Monitor project budgets, prepare cost estimates, and manage procurement processes including construction estimating.
• Oversee quality control measures to ensure construction work meets all specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Coordinate construction schedules with project managers to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
• Review contracts, change orders, and manage contractual obligations with clients and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, identify potential issues early, and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with management teams, clients, vendors, and field personnel to facilitate project success.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar managerial role within heavy/highway or commercial construction projects.
• Minimum 4 years’ verifiable experience as a Sheet Metal, Pipe-fitting, or Plumbing Superintendent
• At least 5 years of experience in large commercial construction (hotels, office buildings, hospitals, casinos, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of construction regulations, safety standards (OSHA), and federal safety compliance.
• Proficiency with construction management software including ProCore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and Primavera.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction documents.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams on-site with excellent supervisory skills.
• Familiarity with construction scheduling techniques and project management tools.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications for quality control purposes.
• Excellent communication skills for managing crews, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of budgeting processes related to large-scale projects; experience with cost estimating is preferred.
• Construction site experience in commercial or infrastructure projects is essential; familiarity with pipeline projects is a plus.
