Job Description

We are hiring experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanics / HVAC Duct Installers for a large commercial construction project in Tallahassee, FL. Candidates must have 5+ years of commercial HVAC duct installation experience and be comfortable working on both new construction and renovation projects.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork, including rectangular, spiral, and round duct systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans
• Measure, cut, assemble, and hang sheet metal duct systems
• Install VAV boxes, dampers, hangers, supports, and related HVAC components
• Seal and insulate ductwork as required
• Perform field layout and fabrication when necessary
• Ensure installations meet project specifications and applicable building codes
• Safely work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial sheet metal / HVAC duct installation experience REQUIRED
• Strong experience installing commercial HVAC duct systems
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans
• Knowledge of commercial duct layout and installation practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying construction conditions
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
• Must provide basic hand tools

• Tape measure
• Aviation/snips
• Sheet metal hammer
• Screwdrivers and nut drivers
• Adjustable wrench and channel locks
• Needle-nose pliers
• Utility knife
• Torpedo level
• Speed square
• Markers/pencils
• Allen keys/hex set
• Tool pouch or bag
• Cordless drill/impact driver
• Sawzall

Work Environment

• Commercial construction jobsites
• Indoor and outdoor conditions
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working at heights
• May require overtime, weekends, and occasional travel depending on project needs
