Position Overview

Woike Electric, LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Foreman to oversee commercial electrical construction projects, with a strong focus on gas stations, restaurants, and other fast-paced commercial developments.

The Lead Foreman will be responsible for managing electrical crews in the field, coordinating with general contractors and other trades, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and making sure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans, specifications, and electrical codes.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can confidently run a job from rough-in through final inspection and closeout while keeping the crew productive and the project on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise electrical crews on commercial construction projects.
  • Manage day-to-day field operations and assign work to electricians and helpers.
  • Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
  • Coordinate electrical work with general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure work is progressing according to the construction schedule.
  • Perform and oversee commercial electrical installations, including:
    • Service equipment and distribution
    • Panels and switchgear
    • Conduit installation
    • Branch circuitry
    • Lighting and controls
    • Emergency lighting
    • Equipment connections
    • Fire alarm and low-voltage coordination
    • Site lighting and underground electrical
    • Generator and other specialty equipment connections
  • Understand and coordinate electrical requirements specific to gas stations and fuel facilities, including electrical equipment around fueling areas and hazardous/classified locations.
  • Oversee electrical installations in restaurants, including kitchen equipment, refrigeration equipment, lighting, signage, and other specialty equipment.
  • Ensure installations comply with the NEC, local codes, project specifications, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Identify potential problems in the field and resolve issues before they impact the project schedule.
  • Communicate material and equipment needs to the project manager.
  • Track material usage and help ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Coordinate inspections and assist with correcting inspection deficiencies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
  • Conduct quality-control checks throughout the project.
  • Train, mentor, and hold crew members accountable for productivity, workmanship, and safety.
  • Complete daily reports, manpower tracking, material requests, and other required project documentation.
  • Communicate project progress, delays, material issues, and field conditions to the project manager.
  • Assist with estimating labor requirements, material needs, and manpower planning when requested.
  • Work with the project manager to identify potential change-order work and document additional work performed.
  • Help bring projects through startup, testing, punch list, final inspection, and completion.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial electrical experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Foreman or Lead Electrician.
  • Strong experience with commercial construction.
  • Experience with gas stations, restaurants, retail, or similar commercial projects highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to lay out electrical work and troubleshoot problems independently.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple crew members and keep projects moving.
  • Must be able to work independently while coordinating effectively with project management and other trades.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
  • Electrical license or journeyman-level experience is preferred.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a working Foreman who knows how to build a job, not just supervise one. You should be comfortable getting in the field with your crew, solving problems, reading plans, coordinating with the GC, and making decisions that keep the project moving.

Experience with high-volume commercial construction, gas stations, restaurants, and projects with tight schedulesis especially valuable.
