Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a Los Angeles-based team in a 9+ month hybrid contract position covering a key leadership need. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can step into a dynamic accounting environment quickly, guide critical reporting activities, and keep essential financial operations running smoothly. The position will play a central role in close management, complex royalty and licensing oversight, e-commerce revenue accounting, and team leadership.


Responsibilities:

• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• Lead the oversight of licensing and royalty accounting activities, ensuring partner reporting is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.

• Manage accounting for e-commerce transactions and apply revenue recognition guidance in alignment with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP standards.

• Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and quality review for two accounting team members to maintain strong team performance.

• Work closely with cross-functional partners in operations, technology, and other business areas to support accurate transaction flow and financial reporting.

• Evaluate existing accounting workflows, recommend improvements, and reinforce internal controls to increase efficiency and reporting reliability.

• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and support informed business decisions.

• Contribute to ad hoc projects and priority initiatives while maintaining continuity across core accounting functions.

• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior responsibility for leading or supervising staff.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Demonstrated experience with licensing agreements, royalty accounting, and related reporting requirements.
• Proven background in e-commerce revenue accounting, including application of ASC 606 guidance.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial data.
• Experience working in NetSuite and familiarity with reporting or visualization tools such as Tableau is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA or comparable technical accounting expertise, along with experience in consumer products, retail, e-commerce, or inventory-driven businesses, is preferred.
