DIRECT CARE WORKER / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
Job Description
DIRECT CARE WORKER / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
Flexible Part-Time, All Shifts and Relief Coverage
ASPGM LLC / ALL LOVE HOME is hiring dependable, professional Direct Care Workers / Direct Support Professionals for a licensed Adult Foster Care small group home in Inkster, Michigan.
We support adults with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities. Our organization is committed to person-centered care, resident safety, meaningful community involvement, accurate documentation, Michigan Adult Foster Care compliance, Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network requirements, and continuous quality improvement, including future accreditation readiness.
This is an active, hands-on position. Staff are expected to spend meaningful time supporting and engaging the adults we serve—not simply sit in the home and wait for the shift to end.

• Fully awake overnight/midnight shifts
• Day and weekend shifts
• Relief/PRN coverage for vacations, call-offs, open shifts, and emergencies
• Employees who can consistently work across two or more shift categories
Priority consideration will be given to applicants with broad and dependable availability, a valid driver’s license, reliable attendance, strong written documentation skills, professional judgment, and a willingness to accept responsibility.
PAY AND SCHEDULING
• $17.15–$19.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, completed training, availability, demonstrated competency, and assigned responsibilities
• Weekly pay
• Part-time and relief positions available
• Additional hours and advancement opportunities may become available based on facility needs, performance, and demonstrated reliability
• Weekends and holidays are part of operating a 24-hour residential program
• Overnight employees must remain fully awake and alert throughout the entire shift
• Scheduling is based on facility needs, the employee’s confirmed availability, training completion, and performance
• No specific shift or number of hours is guaranteed before the hiring, onboarding, and scheduling process is completed
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide person-centered supervision, protection, personal care, skill development, and emotional support
• Treat every resident with dignity, patience, respect, and professionalism
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, meals, laundry, cleaning, room organization, and other activities of daily living as assigned
• Encourage residents to participate in household routines while supporting independence rather than doing everything for them
• Plan and participate in meaningful in-home activities, community outings, appointments, shopping, recreation, and other approved activities
• Safely transport residents in an approved vehicle when assigned
• Follow each resident’s Individual Plan of Service, assessment, care agreement, behavioral or support plan, medical instructions, dietary requirements, health and safety needs, and personal preferences
• Support medication routines and administer medications only after completing required training and receiving authorization
• Observe residents for changes in physical health, emotional condition, behavior, sleep, appetite, hygiene, medication response, and general functioning
• Complete clear, objective, individualized, and timely progress notes
• Accurately document services provided, time spent supporting residents, resident participation, prompts given, progress, refusals, and follow-up actions
• Complete MAR/eMAR documentation, shift reports, incident reports, medication-refusal documentation, transportation records, task records, and timekeeping requirements
• Complete required documentation before leaving the shift unless management authorizes a late entry for a documented reason
• Immediately report injuries, medication refusals, behavioral changes, suspected abuse or neglect, missing-person concerns, health concerns, safety hazards, maintenance problems, and other significant events
• Respond appropriately during medical, behavioral, fire, weather, and other emergencies
• Participate in emergency drills, shift handoffs, staff meetings, coaching, and required training
• Arrive on time and ready to work
• Remain on duty until properly relieved when necessary to protect resident safety
• Communicate early and professionally when a serious emergency may affect attendance
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, resident rights, and a safe residential environment
• Follow company policies regarding personal telephone use, visitor restrictions, resident information, documentation, attendance, and workplace conduct
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Acceptable driving record as determined by the company and its insurance requirements
• Reliable transportation to and from work, including during inclement weather
• Willing and able to transport residents as assigned
• Able to read and follow written and oral instructions
• Able to write clear, accurate, factual reports and progress notes
• Able to learn electronic timekeeping, task-management, and medication-documentation systems
• Willing to complete handwritten records when required
• Able to respond calmly and appropriately during emergencies
• Able to perform the essential duties of direct care, with reasonable accommodation where required
• Able to satisfy all applicable criminal-background, exclusion-list, reference, driving-record, and health-screening requirements
• Able to provide at least two professional references
• Willing to complete all required Michigan AFC, DWIHN, Recipient Rights, CPR/First Aid, medication, infection-control, emergency-procedure, resident-plan, and facility-specific training before working independently
• Available for some weekends and holidays
• Able to remain awake throughout an overnight shift when accepting midnight assignments
• Willing to remain at the facility until properly relieved when required for resident safety
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in an Adult Foster Care home, group home, behavioral-health setting, developmental-disability program, home-care agency, residential program, or similar setting
• Experience supporting adults with mental illness or developmental disabilities

• Experience with person-centered planning, community integration, de-escalation, trauma-informed support, or recovery-oriented care
