Accountant

Temp to Hire role located in Tomball Texas. Will be required to report to work daily (no remote, no hybrid).

Very little to no overtime. (8am-5pm or 7am-4pm Monday through Friday)

Requirements:

· BA Degree in Accounting is desired; solid experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree

· Minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

· Experience with communicating monthly results to senior management

· Experience with variance analysis and reporting

· Experience with Sales Taxes and state regulations

· Experience working with multi-location inventories & shipping costs

· Experience with AR, AP, bank recs, collections, etc.

· Knowledge of payroll systems and reporting;

· Strong organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail

· Strong analytical skills, ability to recognize trends

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Self-motivator and team player

· Ability to transition quickly between multiple assignments/projects as needed

· Proficient with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word

Duties:

· Participate in the month-end close process and preparation of financial statements

· Track and reconcile inventory and finished goods, along with shipping costs analysis

· Analyze expense variances and trends

· Sales and Use Tax calculation and submissions

· Maintain weekly cash management systems

· Assist with corporate banking processes

· Reconcile accounts and intercompany transactions monthly to ensure accuracy and ledger maintenance

· Calculate variances from budget and report significant issues to CFO

· Assist with Purchase Orders for manufactured equipment

· Provide guidance to accounting department personnel on best practices

· Review and analyze payroll expenses

· Understanding of BOMs and product costing
