Senior IT Project Manager

Works under general direction of an assigned manager to oversee and manage City-wide systems projects. Leads and assists in development of projects and programs that will establish quality objectives. Oversees the project full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major and/or several minor initiatives simultaneously. Interfaces directly with managers, employees, vendors and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations. Reports on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities. Works creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence. Prepares estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project. Creates work plans that includes a schedule, milestones, control and risk factors. Identify complex risks, lead reviews, create risk mitigation and implement action plans. Manages all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives. Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.

Demonstrates a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices. Manages project scope, changes and budget. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, Chief Information Officer and key stakeholders. Protects confidential and sensitive information. Enhances company and department reputation by accepting ownership, exploring new possibilities and adding value to the organization.
