Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a fast-paced, patient-focused dermatology practice. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our providers and ensuring a smooth, efficient clinical flow. This position requires a motivated, detail-oriented individual who can multi-task and contribute positively to our collaborative team.

Duties

  • Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
  • Obtain and document medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Assist providers with dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and cosmetic treatments.
  • Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
  • Educate patients on post-procedure care and medication instructions.
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR) documentation accurately and timely.
  • Handle prescription refills as needed.
  • Maintain phone etiquette while managing calls.
  • Document and communicate clearly and effectively, ensuring that all information is conveyed accurately.
  • Perform data entry tasks to ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions.
  • Accurately verify and collect or update patient information.
  • Collaborate with front desk, clinical, and billing teams to ensure smooth patient flow and communication.
  • Training will be completed upon hire.

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience (Dermatology experience a plus!)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Understanding of patient privacy laws and secure handling of personal health information (PHI).
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times (or willingness to complete training upon hire).
  • Proficient in data entry with attention to detail and proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
