Commercial Electrical Service Apprentice Technician

We are looking for an experienced Service Apprentice Technician to join our team performing commercial electrical service and repair work. This position is ideal for an apprentice who has hands-on electrical experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is ready to continue developing their skills in commercial service.

You’ll work alongside experienced electricians and technicians to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install commercial electrical systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial electrical service, repairs, and maintenance
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and assist with identifying the root cause of problems
• Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems and equipment
• Assist with installing and servicing EMT, rigid conduit, cable tray, panels, lighting, and electrical equipment
• Assist with troubleshooting motors, motor controls, and control systems
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Perform preventative maintenance and service work
• Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
• Follow NEC, local electrical codes, and OSHA safety standards
• Work professionally around customers, coworkers, and other trades

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as an electrical apprentice or service apprentice
• Hands-on experience with commercial electrical service and repairs
• Basic understanding of NEC code and commercial electrical practices
• Familiarity with electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems with guidance from experienced technicians
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Willingness to learn and continue developing as a service technician
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing commercial electrical service calls
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Experience with motor controls, switchgear, lighting controls, or generators
• Experience working from ladders, lifts, or scaffolding
• Experience reading electrical drawings and schematics
• Experience working on active commercial construction or service sites
