Accessibility Technician
Job Description
Job Summary:
Employee will travel and service territory throughout the week performing evaluations and installations of company products, such as modular aluminum handicap ramps, porch lifts, stair lifts, grab bars, vehicle lifts and any additional accessibility and mobility equipment offered to customers and businesses according to scheduled work orders and manufacturer specifications. In addition, employee will maintain warehouse and inventory, complete required production forms for daily work order assignments, follow vehicle maintenance and communicate activities daily with branch office. Occasional overnight travel is required.
Position Overview:
• Perform evaluations at customer’s home or business and recommend proper equipment
• Sketch job plan layout, listing equipment and required job site labor
• Apply recommended company products to residential or business structures according to work order
specifications, safety procedures, instructions, and code compliance
• Follow proper safety procedures for all product service and installations
• Exhibit a sense of urgency to respond quickly to request from all customers
• Promote products and services that the company offers
• Provide all customers with accurate product information and documentation
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and applicable laws
• Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills with all customers, staff, vendors, and corporate
personnel
• Demonstrate high standards with customer interactions. Addressing all customer satisfaction issues promptly
• Complete any additional task that may be assigned by management
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and protocols
• Troubleshoot and resolve service and installation problems
• Safely drives company vehicle to customers’ house or business
• Maintains vehicle and equipment in clean and proper operating condition
• Completes required production forms at end of daily work order assignments
• Maintains machinery by performing routine preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment and
troubleshooting problems and malfunctions as needed
• Safe keeping and proper use and care of all customer information and company property issued during
employment, including tools, toolboxes, electronic devices, credit cards and any other productivity tools
• Maintain and report on warehouse product inventories weekly to Branch Manager
• Plans and executes schedule to meet or exceed daily scheduled appointments timelines
• Report to Branch Manager daily activities, issues, and product needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Basic mechanical and technical knowledge and power tool proficiency
• Ability to use technology; tablet, smart phone, GPS, internet, company software
• Experience with job costing, plan layouts and estimating job site requirements
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving installation and service problems
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals
• Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move up to 100 lbs. and stoop, bend, and stand throughout the
course of a workday in varying weather conditions at various construction sites with varying terrain
• Proven experience promoting products with customers one-to-one
• Ability to pass drug screening, background check and have a clean motor vehicle report
