Academic After School Program Coordinator

Organization:
Chautauqua Striders is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring and guidance of youth through education, advocacy, and athletics. We are currently seeking a dedicated Academic Coordinator to supervise our tutoring staff in the Jamestown Public School After-School Programs (ASP).
Program Overview:
These After-School Programs are run in partnership with Jamestown Public Schools, the YMCA of Jamestown, and the YWCA of Jamestown. Chautauqua Striders provides 1–2 tutors per site to support students in grades K–8 with homework help and academic enrichment, Monday through Thursday (sometimes Fridays) from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM throughout the school year.
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. Start date will be August 24th, 2026.
Schedule: Part-Time, 10 months
- 18 hours/week
- Up to 12 additional hours/week as a substitute tutor

Position Summary:
The Academic Coordinator is responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, and support of after-school tutors at assigned program sites. This role includes collaboration with school partners and participation in:
- Chautauqua Striders’ bi-weekly staff meetings
- Monthly trainings and meetings through Jamestown Public School
- Special events and program-related activities as needed

- Supervisory Experience
- Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience working with youth and families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and sound judgment
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Basic computer proficiency
- Reliable transportation
- Availability Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–5:30 PM (additional hours flexible)
