Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and dedicated Custodial Supervisor to lead our overnight custodial team and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our facility. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating custodial operations and staff. This position plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and customer service while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Plan and coordinate daily custodial activities, including cleaning, sanitizing, and special project assignments.
- Monitor work performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for employees, visitors, and guests.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and preventive maintenance programs.
- Manage custodial supplies, equipment, and inventory; submit requests for replenishment as needed.
- Investigate and resolve cleaning-related concerns, complaints, and service requests in a timely manner.
- Train employees on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the use of custodial equipment and chemicals.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning products and hazardous materials.
- Coordinate emergency cleanup efforts and support facility operations during special events or unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain accurate records related to staffing, inspections, inventory, safety compliance, and operational activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education or certifications in facility management, environmental services, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of custodial or facilities maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of custodial practices, cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Proven leadership, team-building, and employee development skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing custodial operations in large commercial, educational, healthcare, or public facilities.
- Certification in custodial management, environmental services, or safety programs.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
