Enrober Operator

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinate with Fancy Candy Supervisor and packers to ensure daily production is packaged and ready to ship.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Confers with Fancy Candy Supervisor as to production flow and sequence

Set up workstation and make sure needed supplies are in place and ready to run

Follows proper steps for starting up and shutting down enrober

Check immediate work area, correct or report potential safety hazards or unsanitary conditions.

Watch for potential allergen/cross contamination issues

Monitor quality of product during production; make adjustments to equipment as needed.

Confer with supervisor, and packaging crew as to schedule changes and sequence of production

Confer with supervisor and maintenance regarding defects in equipment or improvements that can be made.

Verifies correct product on work orders, then operator will complete the enrobing

portion of the work orders

Enrober must ensure they document the correct lot numbers on work orders or they need to review lot number log.

Tracking cards are to be used in an emergency situation such as CMS stops working

Covers up any unused product at the end of shift if necessary put in cooler

Should be mechanically inclined

Must be able to read and follow formulas, schedules and various temperature and speed controls

Must be able to communicate and work well with others

Scrape & mop floors at end of each shift

Must understand chocolate (tempering)

Must be reliable and dependable. Report to workstation at scheduled start time ready to work finish when scheduled unless ok’d by mgmt.

Must have good communication skills and the ability to work with others

Must have good grooming habits, as well as good clean work habits.

Should be mechanically inclined, and able to make good use of various safety guards and practices when using equipment.

Must be able to develop good organizational skills as to allow for timely production flow and filling orders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. This position requires approximately half the work to be performed on the manufacturing floor. This role is located inside a food manufacturing plant and requires sanitation and Good Manufacturing Policies to be applied.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, and wet conditions. Throughout the day, the employee will need to lift or pull up to 50 lbs. of material, depending on the department. This position can be stressful and requires a level head of thinking and know how to overcome.
