Lead Mechanic

Knox Excavating is looking for an experienced Lead Mechanic to join our growing team. If you're a motivated, dependable professional who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on:
• • Heavy construction equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, etc.)
  • Semi-trucks and trailers
  • Pickup trucks and service vehicles
  • Small engines and compact equipment
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and mechanical systems.
• Schedule and prioritize equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and parts inventory.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and meet company standards.
• Mentor and assist other shop personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Experience working on construction equipment and Class 8 trucks.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily shop operations.
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus).
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
