HVAC Service Technician
Job Description
We're looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a field service tech working on commercial, residential or multi-family projects. The Service Technician will independently perform diagnoses, repairs, maintenance and installations of residential air conditioning systems and/or equipment. This position reports to a Field Supervisor and may also perform other duties as required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems, including electrical and mechanical components. Unit types may include Air Conditioning units, Heat Pump, Electric and Gas Furnaces, Mini Split and Package Units. The primary work environment will be multi-family apartment complexes. Minimal call for single family homes.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks and seasonal tune-ups to keep systems running efficiently such as filter changing, cleaning outdoor units, checking electrical connections and amp draws, refrigerant charge and Delta.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to identify the root cause of problems
- Repair or replace defective components or parts
- Test HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning and efficiency
- Operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment to perform service to the equipment and/or mechanical system.
- Complete work orders, task lists and documents to verify work performed as needed to conform to customer invoicing requirements.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines when working with electrical systems and handling refrigerants
- Purchase and maintain inventory stock on service vehicle to company standards, ensuring it is clean, organized, and safe
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions and giving all options.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years proven experience as a residential HVAC Technician or similar role in commercial, residential or multi-family settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of residential HVAC systems.
- Strong communication skills, a customer-first attitude and a professional appearance.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
